Nissan Sentra B18 (2020-2025) Owner's Manual: Text messaging

WARNING

  • Laws in some jurisdictions may restrict the use of Text-to-Speech features.

Always check local regulations before using this function in your Nissan Sentra.

  • Laws in some jurisdictions may limit the use of certain applications and features, including social networking and texting.

Verify all legal requirements before operating these features in the Nissan Sentra.

  • Use the text messaging feature only after stopping your Nissan Sentra in a safe location.

If it is necessary to use the function while driving, exercise extreme caution so full attention remains on vehicle operation.

  • If you cannot devote full attention to driving while using text messaging, pull off the road, stop the Nissan Sentra, and then operate the system.

NOTE:

This feature is automatically disabled if the connected device does not support the Message Access Profile (MAP). For detailed compatibility and setup instructions, refer to your phone’s owner’s manual.

NOTE:

Many mobile phones require special permission to enable text messaging integration. During Bluetooth pairing, check your phone’s display for permission requests. On some devices, notifications must be enabled in the Bluetooth menu for messages to appear on the Nissan Sentra display. Text message integration requires MAP (Message Access Profile) support for both receiving and sending messages. Some phones may support only limited functionality. For updated compatibility details, refer to www.nissanusa.com/bluetooth or www.nissan.ca/bluetooth, as well as your device documentation.

The Nissan Sentra text messaging system allows you to send and receive text messages through the vehicle interface, providing added convenience while maintaining hands-free operation.

The availability of text messaging features may vary depending on the connected cellular phone and its software configuration.

When a paired phone receives a text message, a notification appears on the Nissan Sentra control panel display.

To review the message immediately, touch the "Read" key. Touch the "Ignore" key to store the message and review it later.

Text messaging functions can be accessed through the Nissan Sentra Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone System or directly through the control panel interface.
