DTC Description

DTC DETECTION LOGIC

DTC		CONSULT screen terms (Trouble diagnosis content)	DTC detection condition
P0890	00	TCM (Transmission Control Module Power Relay Sense Circuit Low)	1	Diagnosis condition	—
				Signal	Battery voltage signal
				Threshold	DTC is detected when one of the following conditions "a" and "B" are satisfied: a) Power supply voltage > 10 V b) Battery voltage < 7.4 V
				Diagnosis delay time	0.2 second
			2	Diagnosis condition	—
				Signal	Battery voltage signal
				Threshold	DTC is detected when the following condition "a" is satisfied: a) Power supply voltage - Battery voltage > 2.6 V
				Diagnosis delay time	5 seconds

POSSIBLE CAUSE

Harness or connector
TCM

FAIL-SAFE

Selector shock is large
Start is slow
Acceleration is slow
Lock-up is not performed
Nissan Sentra Vehicle speed is not increased
Stop/start system prohibited

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PREPARATION BEFORE WORK

If another "DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE" occurs just before, ignition switch OFF and wait for at least 10 seconds, then perform the next test.

TESTING CONDITION:

Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is more than 10 V.

GO TO 2.
CHECK DTC DETECTION
1. Start the engine and wait for 10 seconds or more.
2. Check the DTC.
Is "P0890-00" detected?
YES >>
Proceed to Diagnosis Procedure.
NO-1>>
To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO-2>>
Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK TCM BATTERY POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

Ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect TCM harness connector.

Check voltage between TCM harness connector terminal and ground.

Connector	Terminal	Ground	Battery voltage

Is the inspection result normal?

YES >>

GO TO 3.

NO >>

GO TO 2.

DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEMS

Check the following items:
- Open or short circuit of harness between battery positive terminal and TCM harness connector terminals 45 and 46.
- 10A fuse (No. 67).
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >>
INSPECTION END
NO >>
Repair harness, connector, or fuse.
CHECK CONNECTOR TERMINAL

Check the connector of TCM for water intrusion, or damage or corrosion of the terminals.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES >>
GO TO 4.
NO >>
Replace TCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.
CHECK DTC DETECTION
1. Connect TCM harness connector.
2. Perform DTC confirmation procedure. Refer to DTC Description.
Is "P0890-00" detected again?
YES >>
Replace TCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO >>
INSPECTION END
