P0847

FLUID PRESS SEN/SW B

(Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch "B" Circuit Low)

Diagnosis condition

Diagnosis is permitted when all of the following conditions are satisfied:

a) Power supply voltage ≥ 10 V

b) CVT fluid temperature > -20 °C (-4 °F)

Signal

Secondary pressure sensor signal

Threshold

Secondary pressure sensor detected voltage ≤0.09 V

Diagnosis detection time

5 seconds

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Harness or connector

  • Secondary pressure sensor

  • Control valve

  • Secondary pressure solenoid valve

  • TCM

FAIL-SAFE

Stop/start system prohibited

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. PREPARATION BEFORE WORK

    If another "DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE" occurs just before, ignition switch OFF and wait for at least 10 seconds, then perform the next test.

    TESTING CONDITION:

    Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is more than 10 V.

    >>

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK DTC DETECTION

    1. Start the engine.

    2. Maintain the following condition for 10 seconds or more.

      CVT fluid temperature

      : -19 °C (-2 °F) or more

    3. Check the DTC.

    Is "P0847-00" detected?

    YES >>

    Proceed to Diagnosis Procedure.

    NO-1>>

    To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

    NO-2>>

    Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

  1. CHECK SECONDARY PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT

    Check secondary pressure sensor circuit. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    Replace TCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace damaged parts.
