Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
Partially drain the engine coolant. Refer to Draining.
Remove the front suspension member. Refer to Removal and Installation.
Remove the EGR inlet tube heat shield.
Unbolt and reposition the exhaust manifold cover. Refer to Exploded View.
Remove the EGR inlet tube.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse EGR inlet tube gaskets.
Remove the EGR volume control valve. Refer to Removal and Installation.
Remove the water hoses from the EGR cooler.
Remove bolts and remove the EGR cooler.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse EGR cooler gasket.
Remove the EGR cooler bracket using the following procedure (if necessary): Remove the vacuum delay valve bracket bolts and reposition the vacuum delay valve bracket. Remove the bolts securing the water pipe and reposition the water pipe. Remove bolts and remove the EGR cooler bracket.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse EGR inlet tube gasket or EGR cooler gasket.
When installing the EGR cooler, use the following procedure:
Hand tighten the EGR cooler bolts in the sequence shown.
Tighten the EGR cooler bolts to the specified torque in the sequence shown.
