Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

Unbolt and reposition EVAP purge volume control solenoid valve and EVAP purge volume control solenoid valve bracket. Refer to Exploded View.

Remove the EGR outlet tube.

CAUTION:

Do not reuse EGR outlet tube gasket or EGR volume control valve gasket.

Disconnect the harness connector from the EGR volume control valve.

Remove the EGR volume control valve.

CAUTION:

Do not reuse EGR volume control valve gasket.

Remove the studs (if necessary).

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:

Do not reuse EGR outlet tube gasket or EGR volume control valve gasket.

  • When installing the EGR outlet tube, use the following procedure:

    • Hand tighten EGR outlet tube bolts at the intake manifold.

    • Tighten EGR outlet tube nuts at the EGR volume control valve to the specified torque.

      EGR outlet tube nuts

      : 25.0 N·m (2.6 kg-m, 18 ft-lb)

    • Tighten EGR outlet tube bolts at the intake manifold to the specified torque.

      EGR outlet tube bolts

      : 25.0 N·m (2.6 kg-m, 18 ft-lb)
