Diagnosis condition |
Diagnosis is permitted when all of the following conditions are satisfied: a) Shift position: Other than N and P position b) Nissan Sentra Vehicle speed < 3 km/h (2 MPH) c) Primary pulley speed - Secondary pulley speed < 129 rpm d) Clutch instruction pressure ≥ 0.95 MPa e) Input speed - Engine speed < 200 rpm f) Reverse inhibiter is not activate. [Shift to R position at Nissan Sentra vehicle speed more than 8 km/h (5 MPH) roughly] |

The counting of time continues while the following condition "a" is satisfied and stops when the conditions become unsatisfied (the count is maintained). When accumulated time reaches 30 seconds, DTC is detected. (The count is reset when the clutch is engaged.) a) Input speed - Primary pulley speed > 450 rpm |

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PREPARATION BEFORE WORK
If another "DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE" occurs just before, ignition switch OFF and wait for at least 10 seconds, then perform the next test.
TESTING CONDITION:
Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is more than 10 V.
>>GO TO 2.

CHECK DTC DETECTION
-
Start the engine.
-
Maintain the following conditions for 40 seconds or more.
Accelerator pedal
: Released
Brake pedal
: Depressed
Nissan Sentra Vehicle speed
: 0 km/h (0 MPH) or more
Shift position
: "D" position
-
Maintain the following conditions for 40 seconds or more.
Accelerator pedal
: Released
Brake pedal
: Depressed
Nissan Sentra Vehicle speed
: 0 km/h (0 MPH) or more
Shift position
: "R" position
-
Shift to P position.
-
Check the DTC.
Is "P2808-00" detected?
YES >>Proceed to Diagnosis Procedure.
NO-1>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO-2>>Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

INSPECT CVT STEEL BELT
IInspect the CVT steel belt. Refer to Component Inspection.
Is CVT steel belt OK?
YES >>GO TO 2.
NO >>GO TO 4.

CHECK SELECT SOLENOID VALVE CIRCUIT - 1
-
Disconnect TCM harness connector.
-
Disconnect CVT unit harness connector.
-
Check resistance between TCM harness connector terminal and CVT unit harness connector terminal.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES >>GO TO 3.
NO >>Repair harness or connector.

REPLACE CONTROL VALVE
Replace control valve. Refer to Removal and Installation.

CHECK SELECT SOLENOID VALVE CIRCUIT - 2

Disconnect TCM harness connector.
-
Disconnect CVT unit harness connector.
-
Check resistance between TCM harness connector terminal and CVT unit harness connector terminal.

Replace belt and pulleys. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly.

CHECK DTC DETECTION
Perform DTC confirmation procedure. Refer to DTC Description.
Is "P2808-00" detected again?
YES >>Replace TCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO >>INSPECTION END
