Component Function Check

1. CHECK FUNCTION

   1. CONSULT

      1. Select "Back door/trunk opener switch" in "Data Monitor" mode of "BCM(TRUNK)".

      2. Check that the function operates normally according to the following conditions:

      Monitor item	Condition		Status
      Back door/trunk opener switch	Trunk lid opener switch	Pressed	On
      		Released	Off

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES>>

   Trunk lid opener switch is OK.

   NO>>

   Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Diagnosis Procedure

1. CHECK TRUNK LID OPENER INPUT SIGNAL

   1. 1. Ignition switch OFF.

      2. Disconnect trunk lid opener switch connector.

      3. Check voltage between trunk lid opener switch harness connector and ground.

         (+)		(–)	Voltage (Approx.)
         Trunk lid opener switch
         Connector	Terminal
         M15	2	Ground	Battery voltage

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES >>

   GO TO 3.

   NO >>

   GO TO 2.

2. CHECK TRUNK LID OPENER SWITCH CIRCUIT

   1. 1. Disconnect BCM connector.

      2. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and trunk lid opener switch harness connector.

         BCM		Trunk lid opener switch		Continuity
         Connector	Terminal	Connector	Terminal
         M84	12	M15	2	Yes

      3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and ground.

         BCM		—	Continuity
         Connector	Terminal
         M84	12	Ground	No

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES>>

   Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

   NO>>

   Repair or replace harness.

3. CHECK TRUNK LID OPENER SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT

   1. Check continuity between trunk lid opener switch harness connector and ground.

      Trunk lid opener switch		—	Continuity
      Connector	Terminal
      M15	3	Ground	Yes

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES >>

   GO TO 4.

   NO >>

   Repair or replace harness.

4. CHECK TRUNK LID OPENER SWITCH

   1. Refer to Component Inspection.

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES >>

   GO TO 5.

   NO >>

   Replace trunk lid opener switch. Refer to Removal and Installation.

5. CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT

   1. Refer to Intermittent Incident.

   >>

   Inspection End.
