  1. CHECK SHIFT LOCK OPERATION (PART 1)

      1. Ignition switch ON.

      2. Shift the selector lever to “P” position.

      3. Attempt to shift the selector lever to any other than position with the brake pedal released.

    Can the selector lever be shifted to any other position?

    YES >>

    Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

    NO >>

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK SHIFT LOCK OPERATION (PART 2)

    1. Attempt to shift the selector lever to any other than position with the brake pedal depressed.

    Can the selector lever be shifted to any other position?

    YES>>

    Inspection End.

    NO>>

  1. CHECK POWER SOURCE (PART 1)

      1. Ignition switch OFF.

      2. Disconnect stop lamp switch connector

      3. Ignition switch ON.

      4. Check the voltage between the stop lamp switch harness connector and ground.

  2. CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH

    1. Check stop lamp switch. Refer to Component Inspection (Stop Lamp Switch).

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    GO TO 3.

    NO >>

    GO TO 8.

  3. CHECK CIRCUIT BETWEEN STOP LAMP SWITCH AND CVT SHIFT SELECTOR

      1. Disconnect CVT shift selector connector

      2. Check the continuity between the stop lamp switch harness connector and the CVT shift selector harness connector.

    1. Check the continuity between the CVT shift selector harness connector and ground.

  5. CHECK PART POSITION SWITCH

      1. Disconnect park position switch connector.

      2. Check park position switch. Refer to Component Inspection (Park Position Switch).

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    GO TO 6.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace the malfunctioning parts.

  6. CHECK SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID

      1. Disconnect shift lock solenoid connector.

      2. Check shift lock solenoid. Refer to Component Inspection (Shift Lock Solenoid).

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    Inspection End.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace the malfunctioning parts.

  7. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM

    1. Check the following items:

      • Open circuit or short circuit in harness between ignition switch and stop lamp switch connector. Refer to Wiring Diagram.

      • Ignition switch

      • 10A fuse [No. 49]. Refer to Terminal Arrangement.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    Inspection End.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace the malfunctioning parts.

  8. CHECK INSTALLATION POSITION OF STOP LAMP SWITCH

    1. Adjust stop lamp switch position. Refer to Adjustment.

    GO TO 9.

  9. CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH (PART 2)

    1. Check stop lamp switch. Refer to Component Inspection (Stop Lamp Switch).

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    Inspection End.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace the malfunctioning parts.

With Remote Engine Start

  2. CHECK SHIFT LOCK OPERATION (PART 2)

    1. Attempt to shift the CVT shift selector to any other than position with the brake pedal depressed.

  1. CHECK DTC (BCM)

    1. CONSULT

      1. Ignition switch ON.

      2. Select “Self Diagnostic Results” mode of “BCM”.

    Is any DTC detected?

    YES >>

    Check DTC detected item.

    NO >>

    GO TO 2 .

  2. CHECK POWER SOURCE (PART 1)

      1. Remove the center console assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation.

      2. Connect ignition switch.

      3. Start the engine (normal engine run mode).

      4. Disconnect CVT shift selector connector.

      5. Check the voltage between the CVT shift selector harness connector and ground.

      1. Ignition switch OFF.

      2. Check the continuity between the remote start relay harness connector and the CVT shift selector harness connector.

  6. CHECK REMOTE START RELAY

    1. Check the remote start relay. Refer to Component Inspection (Remote Start Relay).

    YES >>

    GO TO 7.

    NO >>

    Replace the remote start relay.

  7. CHECK BCM TERMINAL #18 SIGNAL

      1. Install the remote start relay.

      2. Check the BCM terminal #18 signal. Refer to Reference Value.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident.

    NO >>

    GO TO 8.

  8. CHECK CIRCUIT BETWEEN REMOTE START RELAY AND BCM

      1. Remove the remote start relay.

      2. Disconnect the BCM connector.

      3. Check the continuity between the remote start relay harness connector and the BCM harness connector.

      2. Check the following items:

        • Open or short circuit of the harness between the ignition switch and the remote start relay connector terminal #2. Refer to Wiring Diagram.

        • Ignition switch

        • 10A fuse [No. 49, fuse block (J/B)]. Refer to Terminal Arrangement.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace damaged parts.

  10. CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN STOP LAMP SWITCH AND REMOTE START RELAY

      1. Ignition switch OFF.

      2. Disconnect the stop lamp switch connector.

      3. Check the continuity between the stop lamp switch harness connector and the remote start relay harness connector.

  11. CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH MOUNTING POSITION

    1. Check stop lamp switch mounting position. Refer to Inspection.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    GO TO 12.

    NO >>

    Adjust stop lamp switch mounting position.

  12. CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH

    1. Check stop lamp switch. Refer to Component Inspection (Stop Lamp Switch).

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    GO TO 13.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace stop lamp switch.

  13. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM (PART 2)

    1. Check that open or short circuit of the harness between the ignition switch and the stop lamp switch connector terminal #3. Refer to Wiring Diagram.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace damaged parts.

  14. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM (PART 3)

      1. Ignition switch OFF.

      2. Check the following items:

        • Open or short circuit of the harness between the ignition switch and the remote start relay connector terminal #2. Refer to Wiring Diagram.

        • Check that open or short circuit of the harness between the ignition switch and the stop lamp switch connector terminal #3. Refer to Wiring Diagram.

        • Ignition switch

        • 10A fuse [No. 49, fuse block (J/B)]. Refer to Terminal Arrangement.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident.
