POSSIBLE CAUSE

Harness or connectors

(Circuit is open or shorted.)

FAIL-SAFE

Engine operating condition in fail-safe mode
Fail safe mode		Nissan Sentra Vehicle behavior
Device fix mode		This mode fixes the IVT control solenoid valve and the EVT control solenoid valve in the reference position. The intake manifold runner control valve motor is turned OFF (intake manifold runner control valve opens).
Others		ECM stops the electric throttle control actuator control, throttle valve is maintained at a fixed opening (approx. 5 degrees) by the return spring.

PRECONDITIONING

If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test.

TESTING CONDITION:

Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is 11 V or more at idle.

GO TO 2.
PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1. Start the engine and let it idle for 30 seconds.
2. Check 1st trip DTC.
Is 1st trip DTC detected?
YES >>
Proceed toDTC Diagnosis Procedure.
NO-1>>
To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO-2>>
Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1. Turn ignition switch ON.
2. Erase DTC.
3. Perform DTC confirmation procedure again. Refer to DTC Description.
4. Check 1st trip DTC.
Is the DTC P061B displayed again?
YES >>
Replace the ECM. Refer to ECM : Removal & Installation.
NO >>
INSPECTION END
