Nissan Sentra B18 (2020-2025) Owner's Manual: Maintenance schedules
To help ensure smooth, safe, and economical driving throughout the service life
of your Nissan Sentra, NISSAN provides two maintenance schedules that can be selected
based on the conditions in which you typically operate your vehicle.
These maintenance schedules include both mileage- and time-based intervals, extending
up to 120,000 miles (192,000 km) or 144 months. In most cases, the odometer reading
will indicate when maintenance service is required. However, if your Nissan Sentra
is driven infrequently, scheduled service should still be performed at the regular
time intervals listed.
After 120,000 miles (192,000 km)/ 144 months, continue maintenance at
the same mileage/time intervals.
Additional maintenance items for severe operating conditions
Additional maintenance items are required for vehicles that are driven under
severe or demanding operating conditions. These items should be performed if your
Nissan Sentra is primarily operated under one or more of the following conditions:
- Repeated short trips of less than 5 miles (8 km).
- Repeated short trips of less than 10 miles (16 km) with outside temperatures
remaining below freezing.
- Operating in hot weather during stop-and-go "rush hour" traffic.
- Extensive idling and/or prolonged low-speed driving such as taxi, police,
or delivery service.
- Driving in dusty or sandy environments.
- Driving on rough, muddy, or salt-spread roads.
- Using a car-top carrier or roof-mounted cargo.
If your Nissan Sentra is primarily driven under these severe conditions, follow
the severe use maintenance intervals shown in the maintenance schedule to help prevent
premature wear and maintain reliability.
Oil control system
Your vehicle is equipped with an oil control system (OCS). This system calculates
engine oil and oil filter replacement intervals based on actual driving conditions
rather than mileage alone.
Driving under severe conditions will shorten the recommended engine oil and filter
change interval.
How driving conditions affect OCS display timing

CAUTION
- If the oil replacement indicator is displayed, change the engine oil
within two weeks or less than 500 miles (800 km).
- Operating your Nissan Sentra with deteriorated engine oil can result
in serious engine damage.
- If the oil replacement indicator resets prematurely or becomes inoperative,
change the engine oil within six months or 5,000 miles (8,000 km) from your
last oil change.
