The heated steering wheel system on the Nissan Sentra is designed to operate only when the surface temperature of the steering wheel is below 68ºF (20ºC), ensuring efficient and controlled heating.
After the engine is started, press the heated steering wheel switch to warm the steering wheel. When the system is activated, the indicator light on the switch will illuminate.
If the steering wheel surface temperature is below 68ºF (20ºC), the system will heat the wheel and automatically cycle on and off to maintain a temperature above this level. The indicator light will remain illuminated as long as the heated steering wheel system is operating on the Nissan Sentra.
Press the switch again to manually turn the heated steering wheel system off. When the system is switched off, the indicator light will also turn off.
NOTE:
If the surface temperature of the steering wheel is already above 68ºF (20ºC) when the switch is pressed, the system will not activate. This condition is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.
