Nissan Sentra B18 (2020-2025) Owner's Manual: Fuses

Nissan Sentra fuse types overview

The Nissan Sentra uses four different types of fuses to protect the electrical circuits from overload and short circuits. Each fuse type is designed for a specific fuse box location and electrical load.

Type A fuses are used exclusively in the passenger compartment fuse box and are designed for interior electrical systems.

Type B and Type D fuses are used in the engine compartment fuse box, where higher electrical loads are present.

Type C fuses may be used in both the passenger compartment and engine compartment fuse boxes, depending on the circuit design.

NOTE:

Your Nissan Sentra may not be equipped with all of the fuses shown on the fuse label. Equipment and fuse configuration vary by model and trim level.

WARNING

Never use a fuse with a higher or lower amperage rating than specified on the fuse box cover. Using an incorrect fuse may damage the electrical system, electronic control units, or create a fire hazard.

If any electrical component in your Nissan Sentra does not operate, check the corresponding fuse before seeking further service.

1. Make sure the ignition switch and the headlight switch are in the OFF position.

2. Open the engine hood.

3. Remove the fuse box cover by pushing the locking tabs A and lifting the cover upward.

4. Remove the suspected fuse using the fuse puller, which is stored in the center of the fuse box cover in the passenger compartment.

5. If the fuse element is open B, replace it with an equivalent fuse C of the same amperage rating.

6. Reinstall the fuse box cover securely.

If the replacement fuse also blows, the electrical system should be inspected and repaired. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for this service.

NOTE:

Your vehicle may not be equipped with all fuses listed on the fuse box label.

Fusible links

If electrical equipment does not operate and all fuses are confirmed to be in good condition, inspect the fusible links. Fusible links protect high-current circuits and may melt under extreme overload conditions.

If a fusible link is damaged, replace it only with Genuine NISSAN parts to maintain proper electrical protection.

WARNING

Never use a fuse with a higher or lower amperage rating than specified on the fuse box cover. Incorrect fuse replacement may result in electrical damage or fire.

If any interior electrical equipment does not operate, inspect the passenger compartment fuse box for an open fuse.

NOTE:

The passenger compartment fuse box is located on the driver’s side of the instrument panel.

1. Ensure the ignition switch and headlight switch are OFF.

2. Remove the fuse box cover A using a suitable tool. Place a cloth between the tool and trim to prevent damage.

3. Identify the fuse associated with the malfunctioning electrical component.

4. Remove the fuse using the fuse puller B, located in the center of the fuse box cover in the passenger compartment.

5. If the fuse element is open C, replace it with an equivalent fuse D of the correct amperage.

6. Reinstall the fuse box cover securely.

If the newly installed fuse also blows, the electrical system should be checked and repaired. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for this service.

NOTE:

Your Nissan Sentra may not be equipped with all fuses shown on the fuse label.
