FAIL-SAFE
Transmits the headlamp warning signal to the combination meter via CAN communication when the headlamp (LO) ON conditions are satisfied. When the ignition switch is placed ON, the headlamp warning is displayed on the information display of the combination meter.
Dtc Confirmation Procedure
CHECK DTC PRIORITY
If DTC B20E2–96 is displayed with DTC B20D1–11 or B20D1–15, first perform the confirmation procedure (trouble diagnosis) for DTC B20D1–11 or B20D1–15.
Is applicable DTC detected?
YES >>B20D1-11: Refer to DTC Confirmation Procedure.
YES >>B20D1-15: Refer to DTC Confirmation Procedure.
NO >>GO TO 2.
PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
CONSULT
Ignition switch ON.
Turn lighting switch 2ND and wait at least 2 seconds or more.
Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “IPDM E/R".
Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?
YES>>Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
NO>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO>>Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.
Dtc Diagnosis Procedure
CHECK HEADLAMP (LO) RH OPERATION
CONSULT
Ignition switch ON.
Select “HEADLAMP (LO)” in “Active Test” mode of “IPDM E/R”.
With operating the test item, check that the headlamp (LO) RH is turned ON.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES >>GO TO 2.
NO >>Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.
CHECK HEADLAMP WARNING RH SIGNAL
Disconnect front combination lamp RH connector.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES >>Replace front combination lamp RH. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO >>GO TO 3.
CHECK HEADLAMP WARNING RH SIGNAL CIRCUIT
Ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect IPDM E/R connector and front combination lamp RH connector.
Check continuity between front combination lamp RH harness connector and IPDM E/R harness connector.
