Inside key antenna (trunk room) circuit is shorted to ground

  • Intelligent Key unit

  • Inside key antenna (trunk room)

  • Harness or connector (inside key antenna (trunk room) circuit is open or shorted)

  1. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

    1. CONSULT

      Select “Self Diagnosis Result” mode of “HANDS FREE MODULE”.

    Is DTC detected?

    YES>>

    Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

    NO>>

    To check malfunction symptom before repair. Refer to Intermittent Incident.

    NO>>

    Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

  1. CHECK INSIDE KEY ANTENNA INPUT SIGNAL 1

      1. Ignition switch ON.

      2. Check signal between Intelligent Key unit harness connector and ground using oscilloscope.

    Replace Intelligent Key unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

    NO >>

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK INSIDE KEY ANTENNA CIRCUIT

      1. Ignition switch OFF.

      2. Disconnect Intelligent Key unit connector and inside key antenna (trunk room) connector.

      3. Check continuity between Intelligent Key unit harness connector and inside key antenna (trunk room) harness connector.

      4. Check continuity between Intelligent Key unit harness connector and ground.

    Repair or replace harness.

  3. CHECK INSIDE KEY ANTENNA INPUT SIGNAL 2

      1. Replace inside key antenna (trunk room). (New antenna or other antenna)

      2. Connect Intelligent Key unit connector and inside key antenna (trunk room) connector.

      3. Ignition switch ON.

      4. Check signal between Intelligent Key unit harness connector and ground using oscilloscope.
