DTC DETECTION LOGIC

B1309–12		[VB–SHOR]	Diagnosis condition	When ignition switch is ON.
			Signal (terminal)	AMP ON (terminal 1)

			Diagnosis delay time	30 seconds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

AMP ON short to ground, short to voltage
AV control unit

FAIL-SAFE

No sound from Bose speaker amp.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1. CONSULT
  1. Ignition switch ON.
  2. Ignition switch OFF and wait at least 30 seconds.
  3. Ignition switch ON and wait at least 30 seconds or more.
  4. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “MULTI AV”.
  5. Check DTC.
Is DTC B1309 detected?
YES>>
Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
NO>>
To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO>>
Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

DETERMINE MALFUNCTION TYPE
1. CONSULT
  1. Ignition switch ON.
  2. Ignition switch OFF and wait at least 30 seconds.
  3. Ignition switch ON and wait at least 30 seconds or more.
  4. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “MULTI AV”.
  5. Check DTC.
Is DTC B1309–11 or 12 detected?
YES>>
11 [GND–SHORT] – GO TO 2.
YES>>
12 [VB–SHOR] – GO TO 3.
NO>>
Refer to Intermittent Incident.

CHECK AMP ON CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND

Ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect AV control unit connector and Bose speaker amp. connector.

Check the continuity between AV control unit connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES >>

Replace AV control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO >>

Repair or replace harness or connectors.

CHECK AMP ON CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY

Ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect AV control unit connector and Bose speaker amp. connector.
Ignition switch ON.

Check the voltage between AV control unit connector and ground.
