Nissan Sentra B18 (2020-2025) Owner's Manual: Warning/Indicator lights (other)
For additional details about warning and indicator functions in the Nissan Sentra, refer to the sections titled "Vehicle information display 4.2 inch (11 cm) Type A" or "Vehicle information display 7 inch (18 cm) Type B", depending on the equipment installed in your vehicle.
ECO mode indicator light (green) (if so equipped)
This indicator illuminates when ECO mode is activated in the Nissan Sentra. ECO mode is designed to help improve fuel efficiency by optimizing throttle response and engine operation. For more information, see "ECO mode switch".
High Beam Assist indicator light (green) (if so equipped)
This indicator light comes on when the headlights are operating in AUTO mode with the high beams selected. It confirms that the High Beam Assist system in the Nissan Sentra is active and ready to automatically control high beam operation based on surrounding traffic conditions.
High beam indicator light (blue)
The blue high beam indicator light illuminates whenever the headlight high beams are turned on and turns off when the low beams are selected.
This indicator also illuminates momentarily when the headlight passing signal is used.
Side light and headlight indicator light (green)
This indicator light illuminates when either the side lights or the headlights are turned on, providing a clear visual confirmation of exterior lighting operation.
Turn signal/hazard indicator lights (green)
The corresponding indicator flashes when the turn signal lever is activated to signal a left or right turn.
Both indicator lights flash simultaneously when the hazard warning switch is turned on.
Idling Stop System indicator light (green) (if so equipped)
This indicator illuminates when the Idling Stop System is enabled. The system is designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by automatically stopping the engine during brief stops, such as at traffic lights.
Audible reminders
Brake pad wear warning
The disc brake pads on the Nissan Sentra are equipped with audible wear indicators. When the brake pads reach their service limit, a high-pitched scraping sound will be heard while the vehicle is moving, whether or not the brake pedal is applied.
If this sound is heard, have the braking system inspected and serviced as soon as possible.
Light reminder chime
When the ignition switch is in the OFF position, a reminder chime sounds if the driver’s door is opened while the headlights or parking lights are still turned on.
To avoid battery discharge, always turn the headlight control switch off before leaving the Nissan Sentra.
NISSAN Intelligent Key door buzzer
The Intelligent Key door buzzer sounds if any of the following improper operating conditions are detected:
- The Intelligent Key is left inside the vehicle while attempting to lock the doors or trunk.
- The Intelligent Key is taken outside the vehicle while the vehicle is being operated.
- One or more doors are not fully closed when locking the vehicle.
When the buzzer sounds, carefully check both the Nissan Sentra and the Intelligent Key to correct the condition.
Parking brake reminder chime
A warning chime sounds if the parking brake remains applied while the vehicle is driven. The chime will stop once the parking brake is released or the vehicle speed returns to zero.
