1.	Rear seat belt buckle switch RH & CTR	Transmits the rear seat belt buckle switch RH & CTR signal to the air bag diagnosis sensor unit.
2.	Front seat belt buckle switch RH	Transmits the front seat belt buckle switch RH signal to the air bag diagnosis sensor unit.
3.	ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) actuator and electric unit (control unit)	Transmits the Nissan Sentra vehicle speed signal to the combination meter via CAN communication. Refer to Component Parts Location for detailed component location.
4.	Parking brake switch	Transmits the parking brake switch signal to the combination meter.
5.	BCM (Body Control Module)	Based on the signals received from various units and switches, transmits the buzzer output signal to the combination meter via CAN communication. Refer to Component Parts Location for detailed component location.
6.	Air bag diagnosis sensor unit	Transmits the front seat belt buckle switch RH, and rear seat belt buckle switch signals to the combination meter via CAN communication. Refer to Component Parts Location for detailed component location.
7.	Combination meter	Receives a buzzer output signal from the BCM via CAN communication and sounds the buzzer. Judges whether the parking brake is released using the Nissan Sentra vehicle speed signal and the parking brake switch signal, and sounds the buzzer if necessary. Refer to Component Parts Location (Type A) or Component Parts Location (Type B) for detailed component location.
8.	Combination switch (lighting and turn signal switch)	Transmits the status of the combination switch (lighting and turn signal switch) to the BCM.
9.	Front seat belt buckle switch LH	Transmits the front seat belt buckle switch LH signal to the BCM.
10.	Front door switch LH	Transmits front door switch LH signal to the BCM.
11.	Rear seat belt buckle switch LH	Transmits a rear seat belt buckle switch LH signal to the air bag diagnosis sensor unit.

8.	Parking brake switch	Transmits the parking brake switch signal to the combination meter.

The combination meter has a built-in buzzer (1) and sounds the following warnings, according to signals from each switch and unit:

SYSTEM DIAGRAM

DESCRIPTION

Combination Meter:

The combination meter sounds the alarm buzzer installed in the combination meter when receiving the buzzer output signal transmitted from each unit.

BCM:

BCM receives signals from various units and transmits a buzzer output signal to the combination meter via CAN communication if it judges that the warning buzzer should be activated.

Air Bag Diagnosis Sensor Unit:

Air bag diagnosis sensor unit receives signals from front seat belt buckle switch RH, and rear seat belt buckle switches, then transmits a buzzer output signal to the combination meter via CAN communication if it judges that the warning buzzer should be activated.

PURPOSE

Light reminder warning chimes the driver of egression from the vehicle while engine status is other than running and lamp is in ON status.

SYNCHRONIZATION WITH WARNING/INDICATOR (INFORMATION DISPLAY)

For warning/indicator (information display). Refer to System Description (Type A) or System Description (Type B).

OPERATION AT COMBINATION METER CAN COMMUNICATION CUT-OFF OR UNUSUAL SIGNAL

For actions on CAN communications blackout in the combination meter. Refer to Fail-safe (Type A) or Fail-safe (Type B).

SYSTEM DIAGRAM

SIGNAL PATH

BCM reads status of combination switch.
BCM judges light reminder warning by lighting switch signal, front door switch LH signal, and engine status signal. BCM transmits light reminder warning signal to combination meter via CAN communication.
When combination meter receives light reminder warning signal, combination meter sounds warning buzzer.

WARNING OPERATING CONDITION

When all of the following conditions are satisfied:

Engine status is other than running
Lighting switch 1ST or 2ND
Front door LH OPEN [front door switch LH ON]

WARNING CANCEL CONDITION

When any of the following conditions are satisfied:

Engine status is running
Lighting switch other than 1ST or 2ND
Front door LH CLOSE [front door switch LH OFF]

WARNING OPERATION CONDITIONS

If all of the following conditions are fulfilled:

Operation conditions
Ignition switch	ON
Parking brake	During the operation (parking brake switch ON).
Nissan Sentra Vehicle speed	Approximately 4.3 MPH (7 km/h) or more.

WARNING CANCEL CONDITIONS

Warning is canceled if any of the following conditions are fulfilled:

Operation conditions
Ignition switch	OFF
Parking brake	Release condition (parking brake switch OFF).
Nissan Sentra Vehicle speed	Approximately 1.9 MPH (3 km/h) or less.

Combination meter sounds integrated buzzer when it judges that parking brake release warning chime is necessary from signals below.

SYSTEM DIAGRAM

DESCRIPTION

Seat belt warning chime warns the driver that driver seat belt, passenger seat belt, or rear seat belts are not fastened.

WARNING OPERATION CONDITIONS

Front Seat Belts

Combination meter operates seat belt warning chime when all of the following conditions are satisfied:

Ignition switch ON.
Nissan Sentra Vehicle speed is approx. 9.3 mph (15 km/h) or more.
Front seat belt LH is unfastened.
Front seat belt RH is unfastened and front passenger seat is occupied.

Rear Seat Belts

Combination meter operates seat belt warning chime when all of the following conditions are satisfied:

Ignition switch ON.
When any rear seat belt changes from fastened to unfastened.

WARNING CANCEL CONDITIONS

Front Seat Belts

Combination meter cancels seat belt warning chime when any of the following conditions are satisfied:

Ignition switch OFF.
Nissan Sentra Vehicle speed is less than 9.3 mph (15 km/h).
Front seat belt LH is fastened.
Front seat belt RH is fastened and front passenger seat is unoccupied.
Approximately 90 seconds after the start of warning sound.

Rear Seat Belts

Combination meter cancels seat belt warning chime when any of the following conditions are satisfied:

Ignition switch OFF.
When any rear seat belt changes from unfastened to fastened.
Approximately 35 seconds has elapsed since the start of warning sound from the most recent unfastened seat belt.
