CAUTION:

Perform the self-diagnosis with CONSULT before the symptom diagnosis. Perform the trouble diagnosis if any DTC is detected.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK COMBINATION SWITCH (LIGHTING AND TURN SIGNAL SWITCH) OPERATION
1. Check that the headlamps operate normally by operating the combination switch (lighting and turn signal switch).
Do they operate normally?
YES >>
GO TO 2.
NO >>
Refer to Symptom Table (with LED headlamp) or Symptom Table (with Halogen headlamp).
CHECK FRONT DOOR SWITCH LH SIGNAL CIRCUIT
1. Check the front door switch LH signal circuit. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >>
GO TO 3.
NO >>
Repair or replace harness or connector.
CHECK FRONT DOOR SWITCH LH
1. Check the front door switch LH. Refer to Component Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >>
Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO >>
Replace front door switch LH. Refer to Removal and Installation.

The Seat Belt Warning Continues Sounding, or Does Not Sound. Description

Description

Seat belt warning does not sound even though driver seat belt is not fastened.
Seat belt warning sounds even though driver seat belt is fastened.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK COMBINATION METER INPUT SIGNAL
1. CONSULT
  
  Check the combination meter input signal. Refer to Component Function Check.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >>
GO TO 2.
NO >>
Replace combination meter. Refer to Removal and Installation .
CHECK BCM SIGNAL
1. Check the BCM input signal. Refer to Component Function Check.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >>
Replace the BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO >>
GO TO 3.
CHECK FRONT SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH LH CIRCUIT
1. Check the front seat belt buckle switch LH circuit. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>
GO TO 4.
NO>>
Repair or replace harness or connector.
CHECK FRONT SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH LH
1. Check the front seat belt buckle switch LH. Refer to Component Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >>
Replace the BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO >>
Replace the front seat belt buckle switch LH. Refer to Removal and Installation.

The Parking Brake Release Warning Continues Sounding, or Does Not Sound. Description

Description

The parking brake warning buzzer sounds continuously during vehicle travel, even though the parking brake is released.
The parking brake warning buzzer does not sound at all, even while driving the Nissan Sentra vehicle with the parking brake applied.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK PARKING BRAKE WARNING LAMP

Start the engine.

Check the operation of the brake warning lamp by operating the parking brake.

Condition	Warning lamp status
Parking brake applied	ON
Parking brake released	OFF

Is the inspection result normal?

YES >>

Replace the combination meter. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO >>

GO TO 2.

CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT
1. Check the parking brake switch signal circuit. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >>
GO TO 3.
NO >>
Repair or replace harness or connector.
CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH UNIT
1. Check the parking brake switch. Refer to Component Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>
Replace the combination meter. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO>>
Replace the parking brake switch. Refer to Removal and Installation (with hand lever with rear drum brakes), Removal and Installation (with foot pedal with rear drum brakes), Removal and Installation (with hand lever with rear disc brakes) or Removal and Installation (with foot pedal with rear disc brakes).
