U2140-87	CAN comm err (ECM) [Controller area network communication error (engine control module)]	Diagnosis condition	When ignition switch is ON.
		Signal (terminal)	CAN communication signal
		Threshold	When a Lost communication with ECM.
		Diagnosis delay time	2 seconds or more

Confirmation Procedure

PRECONDITIONING
1. If “Confirmation Procedure” has been previously conducted, always place the ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test.

DTC REPRODUCTION PROCEDURE
1. CONSULT
  1. Ignition switch ON.
  2. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “EPS/DAST 3”.
Is DTC “U2140-87” detected?
YES >>
Proceed to diagnosis procedure. Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
NO >>
To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO >>
Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.
