WARNING
In this situation, steering effort will increase significantly.
The power steering system is designed to provide steering assistance during normal driving, allowing the steering wheel to be operated with minimal effort.
If the steering wheel is turned repeatedly or continuously while parking or driving at very low speeds, the power steering assist may be temporarily reduced.
This reduction is intended to prevent overheating of the power steering system and to protect its components from damage. While assist is reduced, steering effort will feel heavier. Once the system temperature decreases, normal steering assist will be restored automatically.
Avoid prolonged or repetitive steering inputs that could cause the power steering system to overheat.
You may hear a noise when turning the steering wheel rapidly. This is a normal operating characteristic and does not indicate a malfunction.
If the power steering warning light illuminates while the engine is running, it may indicate that the power steering system is not functioning correctly and requires inspection.
Have the power steering system checked promptly. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for this service.
When the power steering warning light remains illuminated with the engine running, steering assistance will not be available. You will still be able to control the Nissan Sentra, but increased steering effort will be required, particularly during low-speed maneuvers and sharp turns.
