(Electric/Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Pump "B" Overspeed)

Diagnosis condition

Diagnosis is permitted when all of the following conditions are satisfied:

a) Ignition voltage ≥ 9.01 V

b) Battery voltage ≥ 9.01 V

c) After ignition on, 1 sec has elapsed.

d) Target electric oil pump speed ≥ 500 rpm

e) Electric oil pump motor temperature ≤ 179 °C (354 °F)

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. PREPARATION BEFORE WORK

    If another "DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE" occurs just before, ignition switch OFF and wait for at least 10 seconds, then perform the next test.

    TESTING CONDITION:

    Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is more than 10 V.

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK DTC DETECTION

    1. Ignition switch ON and wait for at 20 seconds.

    2. Check the DTC.

    Is "P28EE-00" detected?

    YES >>

    Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

    NO-1>>

    To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

    NO-2>>

    Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

  1. CHECK ELECTRIC OIL PUMP POWER SUPPLY

    1. Ignition switch OFF.

    2. Disconnect CVT unit harness connector.

    3. Ignition switch ON.

    4. Check voltage between CVT unit harness connector terminal and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    GO TO 3.

    NO >>

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK ELECTRIC OIL PUMP POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT - 1

    Check the following items:

    • Open or short circuit of harness between battery positive terminal and CVT unit harness connector terminal 24.

    • 60A fusible link (No. L)

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    INSPECTION END

    NO >>

    Repair harness, connector, or fusible link

  3. CHECK ELECTRIC OIL PUMP GROUND CIRCUIT - 1

    1. Ignition switch OFF.

    2. Check continuity between CVT unit harness connector terminal and ground.

    GO TO 4.

    Repair or replace damaged parts.

  4. CHECK ELECTRIC OIL PUMP CAN CIRCUIT - 1

    1. Disconnect TCM harness connector.

    2. Check resistance between TCM harness connector terminals and CVT unit harness connector terminals.

    NO >>

    Repair harness or connector.

  5. CHECK PRIMARY SPEED SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT - 2

    1. Remove control valve cover. Refer to Removal and Installation.

      CAUTION:

      Never disconnect harness connector F102 inside the CVT unit. Refer to Wiring Diagram.

    2. Check continuity between CVT unit connector terminal and electric oil pump harness terminal.

  6. CHECK ELECTRIC OIL PUMP POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT - 2

    Check continuity between CVT unit connector terminal and electric oil pump harness terminal.

  7. CHECK ELECTRIC OIL PUMP CAN CIRCUIT - 2

    1. Disconnect electric oil pump harness connector.

    2. Check resistance between CVT unit connector terminals and electric oil pump harness connector terminals.

    GO TO 8.

    NO >>

    Replace control valve due to harness connector malfunction. Refer to Removal and Installation.

  8. REPLACE ELECTRIC OIL PUMP

    Replace electric oil pump. Refer to Removal and Installation.

    GO TO 9.

  9. CHECK DTC DETECTION

    Perform DTC confirmation procedure. Refer to DTC Description.

    Is "P28EE-00" detected again?

    YES >>

    Replace control valve. Refer to Removal and Installation.

    NO >>
