Confirmation Procedure
  1. PRECONDITIONING

    If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.

    >>

    GO TO 2.

  2. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

    1. Start engine and wait at least 5 seconds.

    2. Check 1st trip DTC.

    Is 1st trip DTC detected?

    YES >>

    Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

    NO-1 >>

    To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

    NO-2 >>

    Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

  1. CHECK ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE (EOT) SENSOR POWER SUPPLY-1

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.

    2. Disconnect EOT sensor harness connector.

    3. Turn ignition switch ON.

    4. Check the voltage between EOT sensor harness connector terminals.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    GO TO 6.

    NO >>

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK EOT SENSOR POWER SUPPLY-2

    Check the voltage between EOT sensor harness connector and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    GO TO 4.

    NO >>

    GO TO 3.

  3. CHECK EOT SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.

    2. Disconnect ECM harness connector.

    3. Check the continuity between EOT sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.

    4. Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    Perform trouble diagnosis for ECM power supply circuit. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace malfunctioning part.

  4. CHECK EOT SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.

    2. Disconnect ECM harness connector.

    3. Check the continuity between EOT sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.

    4. Also check harness for short to power.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    GO TO 5.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace malfunctioning part.

  5. CHECK ECM GROUND CIRCUIT

    1. Check the continuity between ECM harness connector and ground.

    2. Also check harness for short to power.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    INSPECTION END

    NO >>

    Repair or replace malfunctioning part.

  6. CHECK ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR

    Refer to Component Inspection.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    INSPECTION END

    NO >>

    Replace engine oil temperature sensor. Refer to Exploded View.
