WARNING

Always follow the instructions below exactly.

Failure to follow these procedures may result in damage to the charging system or cause serious personal injury.

1. If the booster battery is installed in another vehicle, position the two vehicles so the batteries are close enough for the jumper cables to reach.

Do not allow the two vehicles to touch.

2. Apply the parking brake on both vehicles. Move the shift lever to N (Neutral) for Manual Transmission models or to P (Park) for Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) models. Turn off all unnecessary electrical systems such as headlights, audio system, heater, and air conditioner.

3. Place the ignition switch in the LOCK or OFF position.

4. Connect the jumper cables in the sequence illustrated ( A , B , C , D ).

CAUTION

5. Start the engine of the booster vehicle and allow it to run for several minutes.

6. Maintain the booster vehicle engine speed at approximately 2,000 rpm, then attempt to start the engine of the Nissan Sentra with the discharged battery.

CAUTION

Do not operate the starter motor for longer than 10 seconds at a time. If the engine does not start immediately, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and wait 3 to 4 seconds before attempting again.
