Nissan Sentra B18 (2020-2025) Owner's Manual: Interior lights

Nissan Sentra interior lights and overhead control panel

  1. The interior light in the Nissan Sentra can be turned on manually regardless of the door position. In this mode, the light will automatically turn off after a certain period of time unless the ignition switch is placed in the ON position when any door is opened.
  2. The interior lighting system can also be set to operate automatically when the doors are opened. To disable interior light operation when a door is open, press the switch; the interior lights will then remain off regardless of door position.

In this setting, the lights will turn off when the ignition switch is placed in the ON position, or when the driver’s door is closed and locked.

NOTE:

The step lights (if so equipped) on the Nissan Sentra illuminate whenever the driver or front passenger doors are opened, regardless of the interior light switch position. These lights will automatically turn off after a period of time while the doors remain open to help prevent battery discharge.

CAUTION

Do not leave the interior lights on for extended periods while the engine is stopped. Doing so may result in a discharged vehicle battery.

CAUTION

Avoid using the map lights for long periods when the engine is not running, as this can lead to battery discharge.

CAUTION

Trunk light

The trunk light illuminates automatically when the trunk lid of the Nissan Sentra is opened, providing visibility when loading or unloading items.

When the trunk lid is closed, the trunk light turns off. If the trunk lid is left open, the light will automatically switch off after a period of time unless the ignition switch is placed in the ON position, helping to prevent unnecessary battery drain.
