WARNING
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions for proper use of the Intelligent Driver Alertness (I-DA) system on the Nissan Sentra could result in serious injury or death.
The Intelligent Driver Alertness system helps notify the driver when a potential decrease in attention level or signs of driving fatigue are detected.
The system continuously monitors driving patterns and steering behavior over a period of time, comparing them to the driver’s normal operating behavior. If deviations suggesting reduced attention are identified, the Nissan Sentra provides visual and audible alerts encouraging the driver to take a rest break.
Intelligent Driver Alertness system operation

For vehicles with the 7 inch meter display

For vehicles with the 4.2 inch meter display
If the system determines that driver fatigue or reduced attention is present, the message “Take a break?” appears in the vehicle information display and an audible chime sounds when the Nissan Sentra is traveling at speeds above approximately 37 mph (60 km/h).
The system continues monitoring driver behavior throughout the trip and may issue multiple alerts if decreasing attention is detected again.
The Intelligent Driver Alertness system resets and begins reassessing driving behavior whenever the ignition switch is turned from the ON position to the OFF position and then back to the ON position.
