Nissan Sentra B18 (2020-2025) Owner's Manual: Cleaning interior

Periodically remove loose dust, debris, and particles from the interior trim, plastic components, and seats of your Nissan Sentra using a vacuum cleaner or a soft-bristled brush. Gently wipe vinyl and leather surfaces (if so equipped) with a clean, soft cloth dampened in a mild soap solution, then wipe all surfaces dry using a separate clean, soft cloth.

Consistent care and routine cleaning are essential to maintain the original appearance, comfort, and durability of the interior materials in your Nissan Sentra, especially leather upholstery (if equipped).

Before applying any fabric protector or cleaning agent, carefully read and follow the manufacturer’s recommendations. Some fabric protectors contain chemicals that may bleach, stain, or permanently damage seat materials.

Use a soft cloth dampened only with clean water to wipe the meter and gauge lens. Avoid applying pressure to prevent scratching or clouding the lens surface.

WARNING

To avoid potential pedal interference that could result in a collision, injury, or death:

The use of Genuine NISSAN floor mats in your Nissan Sentra can significantly extend the life of the vehicle carpet and help keep the interior clean and well maintained. These mats are specifically designed to fit the floor contours of the Nissan Sentra and provide added protection against dirt, moisture, and wear. Floor mats should be cleaned regularly and replaced if they become excessively worn or damaged to ensure continued protection and safety.

Floor mat installation

Your Nissan Sentra is equipped with dedicated floor mat positioning hook(s). The number, shape, and location of these hooks may vary depending on the seating position and model configuration of the vehicle.

When installing Genuine NISSAN floor mats, always follow the installation instructions provided with the mats and observe the following procedures to ensure proper fitment and safe operation. Proper installation is essential to prevent pedal interference and ensure driving safety.

1. With the ignition switch in the OFF position, place the shift lever in the P (Park) position for Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) models or in the N (Neutral) position for manual transmission models. Fully apply the parking brake, then position the floor mat in the floor well so that the grommet holes align precisely with the floor mat positioning hook(s).

2. Secure the floor mat by firmly engaging the grommet holes onto the hook(s). Confirm that the mat lies flat and is properly seated without curling or bunching.

3. Verify that the floor mat does not interfere with pedal operation. With the ignition still in the OFF position, the shift lever in the P (Park) position for CVT models or N (Neutral) for manual transmission models, and the parking brake applied, fully depress and release all pedals. Ensure that the pedals move freely and return to their normal positions without obstruction.

For detailed guidance on selecting and installing floor mats specifically designed for your Nissan Sentra, it is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer.

Seat belts

The seat belts in your Nissan Sentra can be cleaned by gently wiping them with a sponge dampened in a mild soap solution. After cleaning, allow the seat belts to dry completely in a shaded, well-ventilated area before retracting or using them again.

WARNING

Do not allow wet seat belts to roll up into the retractor. NEVER use bleach, dye, or chemical solvents to clean seat belts, as these substances may severely weaken the seat belt webbing and reduce its effectiveness in a collision.
