Driving distance of 20 km or more after starting the engine

Clutch master cylinder (clutch switch) signal

BCM detects that the Clutch master cylinder (clutch switch) signal is OFF input even though the clutch pedal is not depressed.

Confirmation Procedure
  1. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

    1. CONSULT

      1. Start the engine.

      2. Drive the Nissan Sentra vehicle more than 12 miles (20 km).

      3. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “BCM”.

    Is DTC detected?

    YES >>

    Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

    NO >>

    To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

    NO >>

    Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

  1. CHECK FUSE

    1. Check that the following fuse is not blown (open):

    Is the fuse blown (open)?

    YES >>

    Replace the blown (open) fuse after repairing the cause of blown (open).

    NO >>

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER (CLUTCH SWITCH) SIGNAL

      1. Ignition switch OFF.

      2. Disconnect BCM connector.

      3. Ignition switch ON.

      4. Check voltage between BCM harness connector and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

    NO >>

    GO TO 3.

  3. CHECK CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER (CLUTCH SWITCH) POWER SUPPLY

      1. Ignition switch OFF.

      2. Disconnect clutch master cylinder (clutch switch) connector.

      3. Ignition switch ON.

      4. Check voltage between clutch master cylinder (clutch switch) harness connector and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    GO TO 4.

    NO>>

    Repair or replace harness.

  4. CHECK CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER (CLUTCH SWITCH) CIRCUIT

      1. Ignition switch OFF.

      2. Check continuity between clutch master cylinder (clutch switch) harness connector and BCM harness connector.

      3. Check continuity between clutch master cylinder (clutch switch) harness connector and ground.

    YES >>

    GO TO 5.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace harness.

  5. CHECK CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER (CLUTCH SWITCH) GROUND CIRCUIT

    1. Check continuity between clutch master cylinder (clutch switch) harness connector and ground.

    YES >>

    Replace clutch master cylinder (clutch switch). Refer to Removal and Installation.
