Work support “INSIDE/OUTSIDE ANT DIAGNOSIS”: activated

Signal (terminal)

Outside key antenna (rear bumper) signal (Intelligent Key unit connector terminal: 37, 38)

Threshold

Outside key antenna (rear bumper) circuit is shorted to ground

Diagnosis delay time

1 second or less

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Intelligent Key unit

  • Outside key antenna (rear bumper)

  • Harness or connector [outside key antenna (rear bumper) circuit is open or shorted]

Confirmation Procedure

  1. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

    1. CONSULT

      Select “Self Diagnosis Result” mode of “HANDS FREE MODULE".

    Is DTC detected?

    YES>>

    Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

    NO>>

    To check malfunction symptom before repair. Refer to Intermittent Incident.

    NO>>

    Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

  1. CHECK OUTSIDE KEY ANTENNA INPUT SIGNAL 1

      1. Ignition switch ON.

      2. Check signal between Intelligent Key unit harness connector and ground using oscilloscope.

        When the trunk lid opener request switch is operated with push-button ignition switch ON

        When Intelligent Key is in the antenna detection area

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    Replace Intelligent Key unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

    NO >>

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK OUTSIDE KEY ANTENNA CIRCUIT

      1. Ignition switch OFF.

      2. Disconnect Intelligent Key unit connector and outside key antenna (rear bumper) connector.

      3. Check continuity between Intelligent Key unit harness connector and outside key antenna (rear bumper) harness connector.

      4. Check continuity between Intelligent Key unit harness connector and ground.

    GO TO 3.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace harness.

  3. CHECK OUTSIDE KEY ANTENNA INPUT SIGNAL 2

      1. Replace outside key antenna (rear bumper). (New antenna or other antenna)

      2. Connect Intelligent Key unit and outside key antenna (rear bumper) connector.

      3. Ignition switch ON.

      4. Check signal between Intelligent Key unit harness connector and ground using oscilloscope.
