This section describes the seat design and adjustment features of the Nissan Sentra, helping drivers and passengers achieve a safe, comfortable, and ergonomically correct seating position.
WARNING
You may also slide under the lap belt, which can result in severe internal injuries.
Seat belts are most effective when occupants sit upright and well back in the seat. Reclining the seatback increases the risk of sliding under the lap belt and sustaining injuries.
CAUTION
When adjusting the seat position, ensure that no moving parts are contacted to avoid possible injury or damage to the seat mechanism.
Front manual seat adjustment
The Nissan Sentra may be equipped with manually adjustable front seats designed to provide reliable positioning and support.
For detailed seat adjustment procedures, follow the instructions provided in this section.

Forward and backward
Pull up and hold the center of the adjustment bar while sliding the seat forward or backward to the desired position. Release the bar to securely lock the seat in place.

Reclining
To recline the seatback, pull the lever upward and lean back. To return the seatback to an upright position, pull the lever and lean forward. Release the lever to lock the seatback securely.
The reclining feature allows the Nissan Sentra seatback to be adjusted for occupants of different sizes, improving comfort and ensuring proper seat belt fit. When the vehicle is parked, the seatback may also be reclined to allow occupants to rest.
