Component Function Check

Component Function Check

  1. CHECK OPTICAL SENSOR SIGNAL

      1. Ignition switch ON.

      2. Turn lighting switch AUTO.

      3. With the optical sensor illuminating, check the exterior lamps status.

        Condition

        Exterior lamp status

        Optical sensor

        When illuminating

        Turns OFF

        When shutting off light

        Turns ON

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    Optical sensor circuit is normal.

    NO>>

    Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

  1. CHECK OPTICAL SENSOR POWER SUPPLY

      1. Ignition switch ON.

      2. Turn lighting switch AUTO.

      3. Check voltage between optical sensor harness connector and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    GO TO 2.

    NO >>

    GO TO 5.

  2. CHECK OPTICAL SENSOR GROUND

      1. Disconnect optical sensor connector

      2. Check continuity between optical sensor harness connector and ground.

      Yes

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    GO TO 3.

    NO >>

    GO TO 7.

  3. CHECK OPTICAL SENSOR SIGNAL

      1. Connect optical sensor connector.

      2. Check voltage between optical sensor harness connector and ground.

      0.1 – 4.4 V

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    GO TO 8.

    NO >>

    GO TO 4.

  4. CHECK OPTICAL SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT (SHORT)

      1. Ignition switch OFF.

      2. Disconnect optical sensor connector and BCM connector M84.

      3. Check continuity between optical sensor harness connector and ground.

      No

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    Replace optical sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace harness.

  5. CHECK OPTICAL SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT (OPEN)

      1. Ignition switch OFF.

      2. Disconnect optical sensor connector and BCM connector.

      3. Check continuity between optical sensor harness connector and BCM harness connector.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    GO TO 6.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace harness.

  6. CHECK OPTICAL SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT (SHORT)

    1. Check continuity between optical sensor harness connector and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace harness.

  7. CHECK OPTICAL SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT

      1. Ignition switch OFF.

      2. Disconnect optical sensor connector and BCM connector.

      3. Check continuity between optical sensor harness connector and BCM harness connector.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES >>

    Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace harness.

  8. CHECK OPTICAL SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT (OPEN)

      1. Ignition switch OFF.

      2. Disconnect optical sensor connector and BCM connector.

      3. Check continuity between optical sensor harness connector and BCM harness connector.

    YES >>

    Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

    NO >>
