Nissan Sentra B18 (2020-2025) Owner's Manual: Hazard warning flasher switch

Press the hazard warning flasher switch to alert other drivers when you must stop or park your Nissan Sentra under emergency conditions. When activated, all turn signal lights will flash simultaneously to increase vehicle visibility and warn surrounding traffic.
WARNING
- If stopping due to an emergency, always move the vehicle as far off the roadway as possible and stop in a safe location.
- Do not use the hazard warning flashers while driving on highways or high-speed roads unless unusual circumstances require you to drive at a very low speed that could pose a hazard to other vehicles.
- When the hazard warning flashers are activated, the turn signal indicators will not operate.
The hazard warning flashers will operate regardless of the ignition switch position, allowing their use even when the engine is not running.
Be aware that local traffic laws in some jurisdictions may restrict or prohibit the use of hazard warning flashers while the vehicle is in motion.
Emergency engine shut off
In the event of an emergency situation while driving your Nissan Sentra, the engine can be shut off immediately by performing one of the following actions:
- Quickly press the push-button ignition switch three times consecutively within less than 1.5 seconds, or
- Press and hold the push-button ignition switch continuously for more than 2 seconds.
This emergency engine shut-off procedure is intended to help stop the engine if normal engine control is not possible. After the engine is turned off, bring the vehicle to a safe stop as soon as conditions permit.
