DTC Description

The Signal Tech II Tool [– (NI-50190)] can be used to perform the following functions: Refer to the Signal Tech II User Guide for additional information.

• Activate and display TPMS sensor IDs

• Display tire pressure reported by the TPMS sensor

• Read TPMS DTCs

• Register TPMS sensor IDs

C1700–86	Control unit (Control unit)	Diagnosis condition	Drive the Nissan Sentra vehicle at 25 MPH (40 km/h) or more. Note: When DTC is memorized, DTC is displayed again at ignition switch ON.
		Signal (terminal)	Nissan Sentra Vehicle speed signal
		Threshold	Nissan Sentra Vehicle speed signal is not detected.
		Diagnosis delay time	2 seconds or more.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

• CAN communication

• ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) malfunction

• BCM

DTC Confirmation Procedure

1. CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

   1. CONSULT

      1. Drive the Nissan Sentra vehicle at 25 MPH (40 km/h) or more.

      2. Stop the vehicle.

      3. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “BCM(AIR PRESSURE MONITOR)”.

   Is DTC “C1700-86” detected?

   YES>>

   Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

   NO>>

   To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

   NO>>

   Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

• Read TPMS DTCs

• Register TPMS sensor IDs

1. PERFORM ABS ACTUATOR AND ELECTRIC UNIT (CONTROL UNIT) SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT

   1. CONSULT

      Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “ABS”.

   Is any DTCs detected?

   YES >>

   Check the DTCs. Refer to DTC Index.

   NO >>

   GO TO 2.

2. CHECK BCM INPUT/OUTPUT SIGNAL

   1. Check BCM input/output signal values. Refer to Reference Value.

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES >>

   Check pin terminal and connection of each harness connector for malfunctioning conditions.

   NO >>

   Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.
