CAUTION:

Be sure to perform the configuration saving and writing or reregistration when replacing the BCM.

When replacing the BCM, always replace it with a new one. The functions controlled by the BCM may not operate properly in case of reuse of the BCM from another Nissan Sentra vehicle.

Before pairing of the BCM and Intelligent Key unit, always write BCM configuration, or not doing so, the BCM control function will not operate normally.

BEFORE REPLACEMENT

When replacing the BCM, save or print current vehicle specifications with CONSULT before replacement.

Note:

If “Before ECU Replacement” of “Nissan Sentra Vehicle Configuration” cannot be used, use “Manual Configuration” after replacing the BCM.

AFTER REPLACEMENT

CAUTION:

After replacing the BCM, always perform “Operation Log Selection” or “Manual Configuration” with CONSULT, or not doing so, the BCM control function will not operate normally.

After installing a new BCM service part, if the Intelligent Key UNLOCK button is pressed before performing the configuration with CONSULT, certain BCM configuration parameters will be permanently locked in the default setting; one of these parameters is remote engine start.

Complete the procedure of “Re/programming, Configuration” in order.

Configuration is different for each Nissan Sentra vehicle model. Confirm configuration of each vehicle model.

If you set incorrect “Vehicle Configuration”, incidents might occur.

It is not necessary to register Intelligent Keys to a new BCM.

1. CONSULT
  1. Select “Re/programming, Configuration”.
  2. Select the operation according to the CONSULT screen.
  3. Perform “Before ECU Replacement” of “Nissan Sentra Vehicle Configuration” to write vehicle specification.
  Note:
  If “Before ECU Replacement” of “Nissan Sentra Vehicle Configuration” cannot be used, use the “Manual Configuration” after replacing BCM. Refer to Work Procedure.

REPLACE BCM
1. Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.
YES>>
GO TO 3.
WRITING Nissan Sentra Vehicle SPECIFICATION
1. CONSULT
  1. Select “Re/programming, Configuration”.
  2. Select the operation according to the reference. Refer to Work Procedure.
YES>>
GO TO 4.
PAIRING OF BCM AND INTELLIGENT KEY UNIT
1. CAUTION:
  
  When before pairing of BCM and Intelligent Key unit, always write the BCM configuration, or not doing so, the BCM control function will not operate normally.
  
  Perform pairing of BCM and Intelligent Key unit. Press UNLOCK button of Intelligent Key.
YES>>
GO TO 5.
REGISTER OF Nissan Sentra Vehicle IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
1. CONSULT
  1. Select “VIN REGISTRATION” in "Work Support" mode of "BCM".
  2. Refer to CONSULT and follow the on-screen instructions.
YES>>
GO TO 6.
TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR ID REGISTRATION
1. Perform tire pressure sensor ID registration procedure. Refer to Work Procedure.

Configuration (bcm)

Description

Vehicle specifications need to be written with CONSULT, because it is the not automatically write after replacing the BCM.

Configuration as follows:

Function			Description
Nissan Sentra Vehicle Configuration	Before ECU Replacement		Reads the Nissan Sentra vehicle configuration of the current BCM. Saves the read vehicle configuration.
	After ECU Replacement	FAST linked	Note: This item is displayed, but cannot be used.
	After ECU Replacement	Manual selection	Writes the Nissan Sentra vehicle configuration with manual selection.
Operation Log Selection			Writes the read Nissan Sentra vehicle configuration.

CAUTION:

When replacing the BCM, always perform “Re/programming, Configuration” with CONSULT, or not doing so, the BCM control function may not operate normally.

WHEN WRITING MANUALLY
1. CONSULT
  1. Select “Manual selection”.
  2. Identify the correct model and configuration list. Refer to Configuration List.
  3. Confirm and/or change setting value for each item.
    
    CAUTION:
    
    Thoroughly understand the Nissan Sentra vehicle specification. ECU control will not operate normally if the setting is not correct.
    
    Note:
    - If items are not displayed, select “Next”.
    - Each item differs for each Nissan Sentra vehicle depending on specification.
  4. Select “Next”.
  5. Select “OK”.
    
    CAUTION:
    
    Make sure to select “OK” even if the indicated configuration of a brand new BCM is the same as the desirable configuration. If not, configuration, which is set automatically by selecting the Nissan Sentra vehicle model, cannot be memorized.
  6. Check that the configuration has been successfully written and select “End”.

1. Confirm that each function controlled by the BCM operates normally.

SHIPPING MODE CANCEL OPERATION
1. 1. Ignition switch OFF (not auto ACC status).
  2. Push in (switch on) the extended storage switch. Refer to How To Check.
  3. Ignition switch ON.
  4. Ignition switch OFF (not auto ACC status) and wait at least 2 seconds.

SHIPPING MODE CANCEL CHECK
1. 1. Ignition switch ON.
  2. Check that extended storage warning message is not displayed in the combination meter or information display.
