When A/C switch is ON

Magnetic clutch ON signal circuit has a shorted to ground

1 second or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Harness or connectors (magnetic clutch ON signal circuit is shorted to ground)

  • IPDM E/R

FAIL-SAFE

Inhibit A/C compressor (magnetic clutch) operation

Confirmation Procedure

Confirmation Procedure

  1. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

    1. CONSULT

      1. Start the engine.

      2. Turn A/C switch ON.

      3. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “IPDM E/R”.

    Is DTC detected?

    YES >>

    Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

    NO >>

    To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

    NO >>

    Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

  1. CHECK MAGNETIC CLUTCH ON SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT

      1. Ignition switch OFF.

      2. Disconnect IPDM E/R connector and A/C compressor connector.

      3. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and the ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to Removal and Installation.

    NO>>

    Repair harness or connector.
