Intelligent Key unit |
Intelligent Key unit controls INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM (ENGINE START FUNCTION), NISSAN Nissan Sentra Vehicle IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-NATS [NVIS (NATS)] and VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM. Intelligent Key unit performs the ID verification between Intelligent Key unit and Intelligent Key when the Intelligent Key is carried into the detection area of inside key antenna, and push-button ignition switch is pressed. If the ID verification result is OK, ignition switch operation is available. Then, when the ignition switch is placed ON, Intelligent Key unit performs ID verification between Intelligent Key unit and ECM. If the ID verification result is OK, ECM can start engine. Horn (low) |
Horn is operated when the panic button on the Intelligent Key is pressed or the alarm is activated. |

Nats Antenna
NATS antenna is installed under the push-button ignition switch.
If the ID is successfully verified, when push-button ignition switch is pressed and the engine can be started.
In that case, NATS ID verification can be performed when Intelligent Key backside is contacted to push-button ignition switch while brake pedal is depressed. If verification result is OK, engine can be started.
In MT models, clutch pedal must be depressed in order for engine to be started.
Hood Switch
Hood switch is located under front of hood.
Hood switch is integrated into hood lock assembly. Hood switch detects that hood is open and then transmits ON/OFF signal to IPDM E/R. IPDM E/R transmits hood switch signal to BCM via CAN communication.
