Nissan Sentra Service Manual: Rocker cover

Exploded View


  1. Oil filler cap
  2. Rocker cover protector
  3. Oil filler tube
  4. O-ring
  5. Rocker cover
  6. Rocker cover gasket
  1. Refer to INSTALLATION

Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

  1. Remove intake manifold. Refer to EM-27, "Exploded View".
  2. Remove rocker cover protector.
  3. Remove ignition coils. Refer to EM-45, "Exploded View".

CAUTION:

  1. Move ignition harness aside.
  2. Remove rocker cover.


  1. Remove PCV valve and PCV hose, if necessary.
  2. Remove rocker cover gasket from rocker cover.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION:

Do not reuse O-rings.

  1. Install the rocker cover gasket to rocker cover.

CAUTION:

Check the gasket is not dropped.

  1. Install rocker cover.

Step 1 : 1.96 NВ·m (0.20 kg-m, 17 in-lb)

Step 2 : 8.33 NВ·m (0.85 kg-m, 74 in-lb)


  1. Installation of remaining components is in the reverse order of removal.

INSPECTION AFTER INSTALLATION

Check for engine oil leaks and engine coolant leaks with engine at operating temperature and running at idle.

WARNING:

Do not touch engine immediately after stopping as engine is extremely hot.
